Michelle Spinelli began her musical studies in 1998 at CLAM, renowned Zimbo Trio’s School “Clam - Centro Livre de Aprendizagem Musical” (Free Center of Musical Learning) in São Paulo, Brazil.

There she attended Popular Singing Techniques classes for four years and in her last two years of Clam, she also attended Popular Piano, with teachers Fernando Motta and Nelson Bergamini.

Soon the desire arose to really delve into the subjects that concern the voice. That was when she joined the former in ULM, Tom Jobim Universidade Livre de Música (Free University of Music Tom Jobim), today EMESP where she graduated from Popular Singing 2003 with Professor Magali Mussi, with whom she continues her vocal studies to this day. At the same time, curiosity and fascination with music and its effects led Michelle Spinelli to the course of Music Therapy at the UniFMU Health Unit, course completed in 2004.

Michelle Spinelli sang at National and International Festivals, the most recent in Stockholm, Sweden: The Brazilian Day. In these musical meetings, she has shared the stage with Fafá de Belém, Hermeto Pascoal, Mike Stern, Roy Hargrove, Filó Machado, Maestro Laércio de Freitas , Arismar Espírito Santo, Sergio Brandão, Thiago Espirito Santo, Cidinho Teixeira, Rubem Farias, Sergio Della Monica, Marcinho Eiras, Paulinho Lima, Klaus Muller, Take 6, Sandro Haick, Leandro Weingaertner (Os Incríveis) , Sexteto do Jô and other wonderful friends. Since 2005 Michelle Spinelli shares with Tomati, guitarist of “The Sextet” of “Programa do Jô”, the Jô Soares’s TV Show, a Brazilian Music project called “Som de Casa”, which is a vocal work, but also considered instrumental due to the large volume of instrumental improvisations in the songs, usual in music where there are singers. A detailed poetic and musical work had its beginning from the immense Brazilian musical collection. The singer and guitarist have combined their repertoire and knowledge of harmony, melody, rhythm and lyrics to create a new musical segment: the Brazilian Fusion. From 2008 onwards, Michelle Spinelli & Tomati traveled to Brazil bringing her exclusive repertoire to Jazz, Brazilian Song, Gastronomic and other Festivals. In 2012, in addition to a Duo and a Fusion Quartet for Tomati's guitar presence, Michelle Spinelli formed a Trio of Brazilian Music to get closer to her audience, playing in Music Venues in her region, Cotia, Barueri, Granja Viana, in addition to some Music Venues and Clubs in São Paulo such as the renowned Reserva, Julinho's Bar, Melograno and others. The guitarists Marcellus Meirelles, Agna Maria and percussionist Helder Lucio were the musicians who supported the singer during these three years of deepening in Cancioneiro Brasileiro (Brazilian Roots). The repertoire and experience grew as the performances reached 7 days a week. In 2015 they performed in the very famous program at SBT: “The Noite com Danilo Gentili”, a very famous tv show at SBT network.  Accompanied with two of the country's greatest musicians, drummer Sandro Haick and bassist Thiago Espírito Santo, they chose Tom Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes Classic, O Morro (“Favela” in english). In a "Samba-Jazz-Rock" version, Tomati & Michelle Spinelli excited the present audience and millions of Tv viewers in Brazil.

 

Still in 2015, the Duo embarked for a tour on the island of Corsica in France. It was almost 4 months and 42 concerts in partnership with Rene Nunes, former student of Tomati, and his Trio. With a repertoire exclusively of Brazilian Music, the super tour established the Duo as undisputed representatives of Brazilian Culture and Music, making them known throughout the island.

In 2016, with the opening of JazzB and JazzNosFundos culture venues organized by Centro Cultural da Música Instrumental (Instrumental Music Culture Center), a new phase of the Duo begins playing in a Quartet. The Tomati Power Trio featuring Michelle Spinelli's withering participation. There were hundreds of shows with full house! Michelle Spinelli iniciou seus estudos musicais em 1998 no CLAM, Centro Livre de Aprendizagem Musical, a escola do Zimbo Trio. Lá frequentou aulas de canto durante quatro anos, com a professora Marta Fróes. E nos seus dois últimos anos de Clam, cursou também piano popular, com os professores Fernando Motta e Nelson Bergamini, este que pouco tempo depois veio a se apresentar com a cantora em alguns shows em duo.

 

Logo surgiu o desejo de se aprofundar realmente nos assuntos que tangem a voz. Foi quando ingressou na antiga ULM, Universidade Livre de Música Tom Jobim, hoje EMESP…onde se formou em CANTO POPULAR em 2005, com a professora Magali Mussi, com que continua seus estudos vocais até hoje. Nesta mesma época, a curiosidade e fascinação pela música e seus efeitos, levou Michelle ao curso de Musicoterapia na unidade da Saúde da UniFMU. Curso concluído em 2004, com duração de quatro anos, somando grande valor à sua interpretação cada vez mais verdadeira.

 

Em muitos encontros musicais já dividiu o palco com Fafá de Belém, Tomati, Hermeto Pascoal, Sérgio Brandão, Thiago Espírito Santo, Cidinho Teixeira, Turquinho Filho, Rubem Farias, Sérgio Dellamonica, Marcinho Eiras, Paulinho Lima, Filó Machado, Roy Hargroove, Klaus Muller, Sandro Haick, Leandro Weingaertner (Os Incríveis), Itamar Collaço, Sexteto do Jô e outros amigos maravilhosos. Também já se apresentou com Orquetra Jazz Philarmónica Jovem, regida pelo maestro Roberto Sion, no Memorial da América Latina. Desde 2005 Michelle Spinelli divide com o guitarrista TOMATI, do programa do Jô, um projeto de música brasileira chamado Som de Casa, que é ao mesmo tempo vocal e instrumental. O casamento perfeito entre Michelle e Tomati, tanto musicalmente como na vida, esta impresso neste disco de música brasileira intitulado “Som de Casa: Música Brasileira do Jeito que a Gente Gosta”, que conta com a presença de grandes músicos do país e do exterior.
